PC user trends of emerging India

Dell, the world’s fastest growing large integrated IT Company has announced the findings of a Pan India survey, that echo its confidence in the opportunities for higher PC adoption and usage from emerging India.

To gain a better understanding of the unique needs of consumers across India, Dell commissioned a study with Greyhound Research titled the ‘The PC User Trends of Emerging India’ across 40 locations with 6000 respondents that included students, youth, young workforce and parents. The study validates the ongoing execution of Dell’s sustained strategy across T1 – T5 markets, which aim at building awareness around PC usage among the next generation of PC users. The study examines established and emerging trends around PC adoption and its relevance among different user segments as an important tool for skill and knowledge development.

The data gathered from the study was condensed into insights which can be broadly categorized into three key eye-opening pillars, based on their impact on the overall technology adoption scenario in India: The personal computer is relevant to different user groups: students, youth, young workforce & parents. The next wave of growth will come from emerging India – where the aspirations of PC users is higher. Personal computers are being used highly for content creation and knowledge development
